Nicola Smith lives in Vermont with her husband and daughter. She has a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and an M.F.A. from Columbia University. Winner of the Chris Kazan Prize for Excellence in Screenwriting. In 2004, her book, Harvest: A Year in the Life of an Organic Farm was published by Lyons Press. She is also a freelance writer whose writing has appeared in the Valley News, Lebanon, N.H., the Boston Globe, Vermont Life and Northern Woodlands magazines.
